The ACR122U NFC Reader is a contactless desktop smart card reader / writer and was developed on the basis of 13.56 MHz contactless (RFID) technology. The ACR122U USB card reader is ISO/IEC18092 compliant for Near Field Communication (NFC) and this NFC reader supports not only Mifare® technologies such as ISO 14443 A and B cards, but also all four types of NFC tags.

The RFID card reader ACR122U is CCID and PC / SC compatible. The plug-and-play function enables interoperability with various devices for a wide range of RFID applications. With a read speed of up to 424 kbps and a full USB speed of up to 12 Mbps, the ACR122U reader can read and write faster and much more efficiently than many competitive products. The read range of the ACR122U USB reader is up to 5 cm.

To provide greater security, the ACR122U readers can be equipped with an ISO 7816-3 SAM slot. Modules are also available to use this card reader as a built-in reader for larger applications and for easy integration into machines such as POS terminals, physical access control systems and vending machines.

The ACR122U NFC readers are ideal for secure personal identity verification in online micro-payment transactions. Other applications for ACR122U card readers include access control systems, e-ticketing for events and mass transit.
