Direct thermal printing technology uses sublimation ribbons to print directly onto the card. Whenthe ribbon and the card pass through the print head, the head heats the dye on the ribbon. The dye then penetrates the card surface and produces a color print. This type of printing produces a high resolution and is ideal for applications where photo or portrait quality is important.
